The Spanish Steps is know as the Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti in Italian. The steps are a set of steps in Rome, Italy. The famous steps Climb a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti and is dominated by the Trinità dei Monti church at the top.
The step are famouse as they where built in order to link the the Trinità dei Monti church that was under the patronage of the king of France with the Spanish square below. The long triangular Spanish square was named after the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See.
