Take a quiet woodland walk in the beautiful Forest and enjoy a glittering loch side picnic. Many challenge themselves on a new mountain biking trail, draw pictures an do art work. The forest has a narrow steep-sided gorge, which is cut by the rushing waters of the Moniack. The woodland shares a mixture of old conifer and broad leaved trees and is a real glory is a stand of Douglas Fir trees that are well over 100 years old. They soar above you reaches a height of about 170 feet (50 metres).
The tallest Tree of Britain also lays here -The giant measures over 200 feet (64 metres) in the year 2000. named Dùghall Mòr – Big Douglas after a local competition at one time it was the tallest tree of Britain!!!
